I went to the nearest pull-a-part yard and found some interesting cars. They only had one maverick 4 door that had a few good parts left on it. Let me know if anyone needs something shown in the pictures. I did find a sprint pinto in the yard that looked salvageable. I can't remember the guy's name that has the sprint collection but I know he used to be on this page and I met he when I was in Florida. If someone knows his name tag him and let him know I found one. They are willing to sell the whole car if someone is interested. The other pics are just some of the old metal left to rust in the yard. There is a w-37 Pontiac tempest in the yard too. The interior was stripped but the engine and driveline is still all there. I was able to find the parts I needed for my Pick up too. . 70 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze. All in all, A great day

Miniature gold mine. I really miss those old yards and not many of them left these days. Looks like a few good solid cars there too if someone has more time than money.

Just be aware that aside from the Mavs and a few others shown there.. the aftermarket is repopping much vintage metalwork these days. So some pieces may not be worth fixing if you have to pay the bodyman.

Good thing that place isn't close to me because my oldest would be trying to drag something home to fix up as his first car. He's like me.. wants something different to stand out in a sea of imports and mustangs and camaros. lol

Most of these are not good for total restorations. Too long in the yard. A few could be saved.

With enough money, anything can be saved. Hell, I wrapped mine around a pole once. I would love to have a couple of those old trucks.

I remember those junk yards as a kid. I wish I would have been smart enough to have bought something and stuck it in mom's backyard.

I grabbed so many parts here years ago. I was standing on a maverick while taking this photo. There was another complete row behind me. Also was a couple of grabbers set off to the side. Shortly after I went thru them for parts he scrapped them all off except 1 or 2. I just was passing through on a vacation drive..

Looks like the same yard. Wish he hadn't scrapped them. It's a cool old yard.

He's a 16yo PITA teenager.. so it's happened many times in my mind already.

As for the T-Bird?.. already discussed its parts interchange/availability and he's not having it. He's all about "turbo power" and I told him he better keep saving to find a lower mileage type deal that's not already all wore out and oil coked. My manipulative way of keeping him away from that stuff until he's ready for more power. We joke about him starting out with "a fullsize car with a 4 cyl/auto"(course he doesn't know they don't even make such a thing) till we know he won't jack our insurance all to hell.

In reality, parts for the Fox T Birds are not an easy find, unless they are the parts shared between the Bird and the Mustang. In fact, it is much easier to find parts for a Maverick or a Comet. You would think it would be just the opposite, since they were build between 83 and 88.

Jim (countangman) had the sprint collection, he broke the set up when he moved to NC. I bought the sprint maverick and the sprint pinto was also sold. He kept the sprint mustang.
