Finally a Maverick build on one of these shows.

I think today is the first time it aired.

Thank God they talked him out of those giant horns for the spoiler, too bad about the headrests... Everything that guy said and did during the whole episode showed just how little respect he had for the car - up until he sold it for $27K!

It was on "Big Easy Motors" on the History Channel... The main owner of the shop didn't have much love for the Maverick...the co-owner had it on his bucket list to build. Wish there would have been less drama and more on the build etc..

When you see what kind of $$$$$$ can be generated for these cars .. I feel better about owning one .
Many of the cars on this forum and others are Beautifully done.. and if THEY were shown at a show
or meeting such as the one on the video.. it makes me wonder how much $$$$$$$$$$ a car like one
finished like WE finish them would command ?... I couldn't imagine selling either of mine for a figure
    like that ..whadayathink ?

Agreed.....EVERYTHING about those shows is scripted.....I would severely doubt the car sold for that much, IF it sold at all. Too much BS for me.

Look what "The Count" supposedly gets for some of the stuff his shop sells. People "appear" eager to pay 40 or 50 large for this stuff. Incredible:coco:

Not only that, but there is no way a 3-man crew is gonna fully restore a rusted, rotted heap pulled from a junkyard (and missing parts) in 2 weeks. It would take that long just for the paint to cure.

When Chip Foose did cars on Overhaulin' in 8 days, they had around 50 guys working 'round the clock, and the cost of parts & labor was around $300,000! Everyone was burnt afterward. There's no way a small shop is gonna do that.

Not trying to go off topic. I'm glad there's a Maverick on there. I DVRd it so I'm gonna watch it this weekend.

Eeewww :yuck: I think I'm goin' to be :cold: and here it comes :vomito::vomito::vomito::vomito::vomito::vomito::vomito::vomito: x100 . Only thing I half way even remotely liked was the side stripe lay out .... *edited* so I'm not smacked with the BAN hammer
IF they sold that for $27,000 then there's easily $40 - 80,000 cars here ALL Day LONG !!!

Yep. I couldnt last 5 minutes watching that garbage before shutting it off. Took a fairly good looking Mav and ruined it. Shame.

glad to see they picked a maverick BUT its all CRAP I watched it without sound and I saw it was all BS
cheesy "restoration" a flashy paint job and a motor thats supposed to have been sitting out in the yard for years all rusty yet the internals are clean as new?? NOT a rat living inside the block NOPE I CALL FAKE
and those horns on top of the seat are the dumbest thing I ever saw someone do to a maverick. GLAD I DIDNT PAY FOR THAT CRAP

I do have a positive thing to say about the car though.. the paint actually looks pretty nice although I dont like it. I like the colors and the vintage vibe to it. it looks like its right out of a scene from maverick summer if it wasnt already corvette summer lol
