How would you adjust it? Is there a screw? Also RadioShack does not exist anymore.

Got the Radioshack rheostat today. Anyone got instructions or info on this process?

    See Schematic.
On the Radio Shack variable resistor, connect the center post to one of the outside posts.
Connect your "fixed value" resistor to one of the outside posts.
Wire this assembly in "series" with the sending unit wire. (Either near the tank, or at/near your gauge).
Adjust variable resistor to reflect the amount of fuel in your tank. Hopefully, the fixed value resistor will be "in the ballpark". As other members have pointed out, you may or may not have to add or take away from the fixed value.
Ideally (perfect world), the variable resistor will be at mid-point when perfectly adjusted. But, once you've got the gauge set where you want it, you could remove from the circuit, measure the total resistance, and then replace with a fixed value resistor with the measured resistance. :tiphat:

Opps...On the schematic, the Fixed Value Resistor should read 20 - 40 ohms. :slap:
