thinking about adapting this onto my Mav it designed for early mustang & falcons, bet I could modify the cross member to work on a Mav & with there tubular upper control arms its only $700, add some coil overs & one could eliminate a lot or all of the shock tower. Thoughts?

which one would be closer the 64-66, 67-70 mustang, or the 61-65 falcon to the Maverick?
I think the Falcon has the closest frame width correct?

If you choose to do this, you will have a couple of changes you have to make. The front structural member that the strut rods connect to in a stock Maverick will have to be cut out to make room of the replacement plate. This will eliminate one of the primary strengthening structures on your front end. The plate you install will help a little but not enough as the dropped support member adds resistance to front end twisting that will not be replaced with a flat cross member.

You would be better off starting with the 70 Mustang kit and just narrowing it to fit you frame rails. You will have to to measure carefully as the contours of the Mustang frame rails are not the same as the Maverick. You need to make sure the forward lower control arm mounting point is in the same relative position vertically as it would be in the Mustang. You may also need to address clearance for the crank pulley on the motor.

Overall, the biggest problem will be reinforcing the front to resist twisting. Please take lots of pictures and tell us how it works out.

Jayman, yeah the 70 mustang was the one I figured on using cause the control arms are the same as our cars,
and I plan on cutting the whole front cross member out and welding in some square tube & welding their cross member to it and the frame should be strong enough, gotta get the funs together for the kit first lol

How will alignment process work w/ this setup? I am curious how this will be accomplished?

I haven't had it aligned yet, but its suppose to give more adjustment for camber, and caster

How will caster adjustment be accomplished? Those UCA don't seem to have any adjustment nuts?

All adjustments are done on the lowers. They have front and rear eccentric bolts, same effect as the first generation Mustangs where caster and camber were set by adding shims to the front and rear UCA bolts.

When you get time please give more information about what you had to do to get the plate to fit. Doesn't look like you had to narrow it.

Will those eccentrics adjust caster & camber or camber only? If caster is set, wondering if 3-4+ degrees can be accomplished? Interested in seeing how this mod will workout..
