I know I'll get roasted for this, but I'm looking into painting it as opposed to chrome. Not a huge fan of chrome.

I did that on one of my cars. The nice car got chrome and the beater got paint. My nice car is having to sit outside now though so I might pull off the nice chrome bumper and paint a spare small bumper for it.

That's how I look at it...unless someone wants to pay for my car bills, its my car and I will do what I want with it. Until they pay some of the costs their opinion really doesn't matter lol.

Or you can have one chrome bumper and one body color. My Comet (Hotrock) has been this way for years. I have never had anyone mention the two different bumpers. I believe by the time an observer gets to the opposite end of the car they have forgotten about the bumper they had just seen.

Color or chrome, both bumpers look right at home! :thumbs2:

I saw your car a few years ago at one of the Ohio events; I never noticed the different bumpers. I think they look nice. I even like the black wheels.
I been thinking about possibly painting my bumper/s.

Just like the difference in bumpers front to rear, the front wheels are late`60s vintage Keystone Classics and the rears are Chrysler application steelies both painted black.

By referring to old videos or photographs, running mag wheels w/o center caps on the front and steelies on the back was common place at the dragstrips of the late `60s and early `70s. Painting them black was not; a mix of old and new!

Has anyone used Goodmark Industries for plating a bumper? Tri-city now wants $600 for a front skinny bumper without a core and $500 with a core. A couple of years ago it was $325. Goodmark's price for plating is $349 for front or rear skinny bumper. I think they are based out of Georgia. Does anyone know where AK sends bumpers for plating? The latest catalog I have from them shows $425 using your own core. Possibly could be more than that now.

seems like the rear bumper from a 71 mustang could fit fine in a maverick, would be great if anybody could test it
