I wasn’t going to go to the swap meet today but my dad called me and said “get your a** down here I found a fender and set of pedals for you!” Drove an hour there and picked up a NOS 73 fender, clutch pedals, brand new 302 intake and a comet badge all for $350. I made sure to buy my dads lunch lol. AAD3F2E0-73AC-4CC4-898D-487E113AD3E7.jpeg

He is pretty amazing, and is always willing to help however he can! He even took the fender home for me because it would not fit in my car.

I sanded down my dash and painted it today. 1st time I painted anything worth a flip so I am hoping it looks decent. Sanded it down with some 500 grit, cleaned it off with some acetone. Put 2 coats of black primer and then 2 coated of satin black. Finished it off with 2 coats of clear. I'll take it in the sunlight tomorrow and see what it looks like.
Also started messing with the dash wiring, figured out my switch for the wiper motor is bad and I believe so is my headlight switch. I'm not sure which is the light pin on my connector for the bezel but only power I have going to it with the lights on is from the ignition being on. Once I turn the ignition off, it's all dead. I have ordered both of them.

Today, I cleaned up my heater box inside and out. Ordered some clips and rivets to piece it all back together as well as the kit to make it like new again. Biggest chore will be fixing the damage....we shall see once my parts arrive.

The headlights, park & dash lights should have power whether ign switch is on or not.

Sounds like someone has been romancing the wiring.

There was some creative stuff going on when the PO installed aftermarket gauges and the tach. I have some things to fix but I do believe the switch is the culprit on top of everything else.

Took time to take apart the 74 parts car and categorize the parts. Pretty sure this truly is a 63K original car, just sat under a tarp for 10+ years. The parts are in fantastic condition. I decided to keep the knobs and polish them a bit. They really came out nice! 5D57CA58-DFB4-4FB1-8AAE-DFB4FD6CB129.jpeg E92BA488-A106-4D8D-B07E-1A7294A5C8DE.jpeg
