Always very careful about snakes and spiders in these old cars. Believe it or not though I watch more closely for rats though. Opened up a 76 stallion that was sitting in a barn and peaked my head inside. Dang rat jumped right at my face, slammed my head on the roof and fell onto the ground. My buddy had to stop me from getting the gasoline lol.

Lol I’m not sure there is really much to salvage to be honest.

Do you mean on front of crank? If so use it. Keeps excessive oil off front seal.

That's the one. I found a front sump, mechanical fuel pump timing cover with the slinger behind it. 17 bucks at the junk paradise, 2 hours to get it, two hours driving, 2 hours cleaning-scraping-busted dipstick tube/oil seal removal. If my time was of any value, this sure would have been a waste, but the broke down 72 cougar had a re-built driver side lower door hinge, so scoring that made it worthwhile.

My car came out of the high desert of California with two Black Widow spiders in the passenger side rear frame rail. Freaked me out when I first saw them!

I've found that MOTH BALLS are a great deterrent for rats ... I put them in the engine compartment .. under the rug .. in the trunk wells .. My spark plug and other wires are intact for a loooooog time now . By NOT using rat poison you chase the critters away .. and they don't die in or on your vehicle and stay there till removed.

Finally got up to the shop this last weekend. Got stopped cold on hooking up the engine, so took a stab at replacing the heater core. Had done a couple in the past, but this was the first with A/C. UGH! Had to get it done before I hooked up the A/C during the engine swap. But at least it's done without finding that one little part that I needed but didn't have. If only the engine swap went that way.

PB Blasted the bolts holding in the rear bumper so I can finally start my small bumper conversion.

Took the car out for a ride yesterday. Besides the fast idle being totally useless, the car runs well.

finally stated up the car after putting on the fuel injection. The first time no fuel pump the brand new relay didn't work. Changed the relay, it started, shut off the car and tightened up the return line connections that weren't tight enough and then ran the car to fine the fan relay was loose. But now press the start button and I have a running car.

Went for a couple mile ride around neighborhood, put her back in hibernation. Plans in works to give attention to several large & small issues, mebby next month. First Fairlane will get remainder of front end rebuild & disc brake conversion. Hopefully can start on that by this time next week, presently overhauling a bathroom.
