Anyone running GT40P heads and the Hooker 6901 long tube headers with the shock towers untouched? Anyone know for 100% if this works or doesn't? Thank you.

With any header other than specifically designed GT40P, number six spark plug and header tube will be fighting for same space. I've seen shorty spark plugs used but boot on plug wire will probably get burned.

Thank you for replying. I've read about that but then I've seen a video of the GT40P's with the 6901's in a Foxbody mustang and the guy explained which cylinders needed 90 degree boots to clear and he has had no issues. I was hoping to follow what he said and have it worked. Before i really knew about some of the fitment problems i already bought the heads and they are completely done, PnP, oversized valves, and upgraded springs. I was hoping someone with a Maverick had the same thing and i can get a heads up before my install.

I would say there are two things that should give you your answer. 6901's are known to fit the Maverick and if you found a guy running them on P heads without issue you have a green light. You may hate yourself when you have to change plugs but it isn't like you do that every day. There are also some great products you can buy to shield the plug boots from the heat that should extend their life.
