    Thanks guys...

I have a new set of 6cyl springs that I was all hyped up to try but found the coil size is same as the orig V8 springs that are in it now... The parts Comet springs are slightly smaller plus sagging badly on driver side, would no doubt be on it's nose with those springs... I think I'm gonna remove the shocks and let it bounce over some bumps and dips to see if it settles any more...

Old saggy rear springs are just about where I want the rear

I pulled a spring and found my new 6cyl are 1/2 coil shorter than the orig... So I installed one and it came down approx a inch and with both replaced it's now down approx 1.5", didn't finish till it was too late to get picts.... A little more to story, since it was still a bit high, I went ahead and cut 1/4 coil from the right spring, surprisingly its within 1/8" of being same height on both sides...

I also found the spring perches in the Laurel Mountain Mustang kit are junk... The press in sleeves were loose in both and started making a clunking since shortly after I was able to start driving it... For driver side I reinstalled the Ford replacement that was in it when I bought the car, that one is in very good condition(too bad the other was orig, as it was shot)... I bumbed a aftermarket perch from Brian for right side, not as well built as orig but maybe it'll hold up...

Can't wait to see the pics. I'll bet it looks a lot better.

Sun wasn't cooperating but I believe the change is noticeable...

Looks good Tom! I am using the OpenTracker Roller Bearing Spring perches.

Looks good Tom. Do you think it will settle a bit yet?

I'd considered the roller perches but Brian said he couldn't tell a difference in his BOSS 351 Maverick that he installed a set... So I used what was in the kit and those sure bit me... I'd think the rollers would be good quality...

I'm hoping it settles a little more, but it's so much better driving will stay like it is at least for awhile...

Strangest thing is when I open hood, looks like the motor has fell out, almost need binoculars... I looked underneath to be sure the pan wasn't dragging...

Definite improvement, but still too high (no offense intended whatsoever). I don't know if they'll settle any.
I think a half-coil would have been about perfect rather than a quarter.

Yeah I have enough practice now that I'll probably knock em down a little more... Since these are new springs I do want to give them some time...

Well since Santa brought winter yesterday, today I spent most of the late afternoon editing.

Probably 90% finished, a few pictures & engine teststand video still in hiding.

I used my original '71 i6 springs with a full coil cut out to achieve this ride height back in the day: nohood.jpg

Looks like yours will settle in pretty good. Nice work so far!
