I'm good on my Mustang and Fairlane stuff but am weak on Maverick.
Interested in drum brake spindle info. I know the 1970-73 Maverick drum brake spindles interchange but are they used in later years as well, beyond 1973? Only interested in the drum spindle not the disc brake spindle. Thanks in advance s-l1600 (15).jpg

I did a little diggin', '73 & '74 are listed as same, with 1975 having different part numbers. No idea what, if any difference there is. Drum brakes were history for '76.

The Maverick spindles have the same basic geometry as 1968-1971 Fairlane/Torino(have '69 disc brakes on my '72). Of course there are tie rod pin & bearing size differences to be considered, but have easy workarounds.

According to Hollander 1970 from 8/25/69 to 1974 are the same. The early 69.5 cars are different, Falcon parts.
As Tom said - 1975 is its own number - no idea what is different but it crosses to the drum brake Granada and Monarch.

Prompted me to pull out my Hollanders. Yes the early Mav spindle is also listed for Falcon but so is the Torino spindle. The spindle used in early Mav carries a D0O part number so is Fairlane Torino. Beginning '66, Falcon & Fairlane/Torino, share brake, steering & suspension parts. Main differences are change from four to three bolt ball joint, larger spindle & tie rod pins that began with true '70 models.

I suspected the 74 was the same, now 75 is the question. I'm more concerned with the 4 mounting holes for the backing plate, so you guys with manuals can you look up the backing plate and see if it interchanges , please

Same backing plate is listed '73 to '75(cat starts '73). Has a C9 part number so fits multiple years.

Guessing you're looking to use the '66/'67 disc brake setup?
