Effie and I stopped by the Ford dealership to see about ordering one of them. the sales person had never heard of one...:slap:
we went inside and he googled it up and couldn't find out anymore than I already knew.
he did say they were listing them under $20K. I can't imagine there being much truck there for that price. maybe it's going to be a low budget truck like the Maverick car was...

Since the first year Maverick cost $1,995.00 Why not sell the first Maverick truck $1995...plus another zero on the end :D

I just think it's lame that Ford couldn't come up with an original name for it.
I would rather see the Maverick car brought back...

Since this has already been discussed in depth, with tons of pictures of what it looks like, on Facebook......might as well bring the discussion on here. :D

Ford is never bringing back the Maverick CAR. This is the final year for the Fusion. Ford CARS are done. Other manufacturers are also no longer making CARS. The market has spoken......people don't buy CARS anymore. Now this may change in the future, but that is where the market is right now.

People buy cars, just not the stuff the big three were kicking out (with the exceptions above).

That's all well & fine, but it's ridiculous to give trucks & SUVs car names. It's like they lack the creativity to come up with a new name for a new model...

Remember the Courrier pickup? It was named after an earlier Ford car. They could have at least stuck with that...

Too late; Ford has already gone ahead and done it. Not a good name; the Mazda built Ford Courrier was a terrible truck. It would start to rust before it was unloaded from the ship!

Wasn't the Maverick name being used for a Euro- SUV? That is probably where the new use for the name is coming from. This Maverick truck will be front wheel drive if getting 2wd (4wd will be available) and it is small compared to the new Ranger.

The new Ranger has grown to be a pretty good size and I keep looking at them. Turbo 4 with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. 10 speed transmission. My main complaint.... it needs a leveling kit to bring the front up, or spring blocks out back to drop that a bit. It has too much rake as is. Other than that, for my purposes it looks pretty good, especially the crew cab, 5 foot bed. A full size truck feels like overkill for me (unless I start hauling a car trailer) ;)

The Maverick truck looks to be almost the size of the old Rangers. As someone 6 foot tall, they always felt too small.

I'd wait a year or two on anything "new". Just me being a Ford senior master....

If the writers of the Rockford Files had any “car class” they would have had Rockford drive a Maverick instead of a Firebird. Besides since Rockford always seemed to be broke , a Maverick might have been more consistent with his budget.
