Hey everyone, I have bucket seat tracks for a 76-77 and an earlier set, 73-75 I think. Would it be helpful for people if I did something similar to this for all the spacers and such for each track of both years. I know these tracks are getting harder to find so if this would help people as the fab up spacers and brackets in the future I could do this. I laid the image under it for reference and it is not scaled perfect nor was the picture taken and the perfect "flat" angle, but the dimensions are within 1/16" and should be plenty accurate for what would be needed. Just looking for thoughts before I spend the time measuring and drawing all this out. For all I know this information is somewhere else already and I couldn't find it when I was looking!
There are '71-'74 tracks, and '75-'77 tracks. The latter were different due to the raised floor section on the passenger side for the catalytic converter...
Here is a tech write up I did on the later (catalytic convertor) cars. Something to note is in the later bucket seat cars, the passenger seat bottom is odd. I am trying to recall ... I think lopsided, one side higher than the other? http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/cat-hump-bucket-seat-tracks.128/
Found it .... check out the pictures mid-thread on the 1977 bucket seat bottom. There is a riser on the outboard section that the track mounts to and the inboard track is mounted much higher. To put early buckets in a 77, using 77 seat tracks, you would need to put the outboard track on some kind of fabricated riser under the floor or between the track and the seat. That passenger seat bottom would end up higher than the driver seat. http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/cat-hump-bucket-seat-tracks.80862/#post-841192
