Yup ... it mounts between the top of the z-bar and the tab on the firewall near the brake master cylinder ....

I'm sure any old spring will do but I did track down and NOS to put there ..

The hardest to find part that I own is probably the pretty decent '71-'72 Comet front bumper and a perfect Comet hood lip trim.

Now my trucks are a diffrent story. I have some pretty rare parts for my '67-'72 Ford Trucks like 2 sets of rear bumper brackets and a perfet rear bumper, and all the Ranger XLT interior trim and gauge cluster in perfect condition. Also have a 98% perfect aluminum '69 Ranger grille thats very hard to come by and very pricey on ebay.

Hmmm, I probably have a nice used one in a box somewhere. Ordered everything new when I did the swap over 20 years ago.

I agree, never saw one even at the dealerships. I do a little leather work (very little ... long story) and would love to see one to try and make them.

That spring is a mistery to me because some cars have it and some dont. I could never figure out what the reason for it is in the first place.

I still stand by my "Fasten Seat Belt" dash light. Thats a 1 year only part and actually a partial year.

Based on that statement, the dash-mounted ignition switch and non-key steering column covers would be equally as rare (69.5 only).

Yes, but I'm guessing we are talking about a NOS part that you installed on your car .

Well that teaches me something new today...
It was driving me up a wall that I had another Sprint and a 72 Grabber at one time, and niether had the seatbelt light, yet my current Sprint does.
I couldn't figure out that one to save my life.
The partial year thing fills in the gap.

So, in theory, I could delete that from a 72 car, and still be correct...
    Right?

It has to do with the front retractable seat belts. If you had them, you have the light, if you didnt, you dont have the light. I thought around mid year, they all had retractable belts so by logic all Sprints should have them. But since you had a Sprint that didnt, I guess not. I think Ford engineers get random generators as a sign on bonus because sometimes nothing makes sense.
