Find a donor mav and add a leaf or 2 to yours from it. It will lift the backend up. Check the other mav sight for pics of my driver 4dr to see if thats how you like it to sit.

Okay well I don't like that either, and was not suggesting that for your car...

Good cause that wasn't happening. Ever.
I have friends who want to drop it and others that want to hike it up on a Bronco frame.

My suggestion was to drop the front slightly, and run slightly taller tires on the rear to get the desired "rake". This is provided that the rear springs on there now are not sagging. If they're sagging, you should replace them.

I say this because I like your car. It's pretty straight, has a V-8, has lots of potential, and it's a '73, which is my favorite year for these cars. I don't want to see you "redneck it out", even if that is what you like...

    195-60/15s up front
    225-70/15s out back.
Once i get the loot for new leafsprings the shackles go back to the parts bin for the next car in need.
"Redneck" is a relative term like "ghetto". Depends on your definition of either.
If my liking scoops and spoilers and 8 tracks makes me a redneck then yeehaw. You should watch the 36 other videos I have on YouTube for more convincing evidence. Hell I own a Bloodhound.

I'm not bad-mouthing rednecks. They're people too, and some of my best friends are rednecks. I just don't like seeing Mavericks & Comets messed-up...

"Messed up" to you might be perfect to someone else.
Like the original or nothing crowd vs the Hot rodder crowd. Everyone likes what they like.

I can't imagine not souping up my car. It just don't seem right not having fat tires and headers.

I just bought some from JC Whitney a month or two ago. They had a huge backorder. I called the supplier, John R. Spring, and told them about the back order. She was surprised and told me she would "get on that and to call her back in a week". I waited a week and called her back. She told me they were on their way. Sure enough - I got them the next week. They're shipping now.

Just called them and was quoted $60 a side for 4 leaf and $25 extra each side for a 2' rearch plus shipping from Michigan to NC.
That would give me good lift without messing up the car.

FYI: The JC Whitney shackles and bushings don't fit the springs they sell. I just sent my shackles and bushings back to them.

    Not cool.
I was going to use Urethane when I replace all the rubber bushings on the car.

I used my original shackles with the new JCW springs. I just blasted, repainted and installed new bushings in them. There was nothing wrong with them..

    My originals are sorry looking.
I will probably use the new shackles on their lowest setting which is still higher than stock by an inch. I'll be cutting them off and rounding the edges.

I'm also getting the 4 leafs for replacements.
