Sure, everyone wants to destroy the shock mounts and have generally poor handling on their Maverick/Comet, right?...

I originally planned on using my old shackles, but the local guys wanted so much for bushings that there wasn't much cost difference between buying new shackles with bushings and buying new bushing for the old shackles. Since the JCW bushings are too small, I guess I'll be using my old shackles. No big deal. Where did you get new bushings?

Here I was expecting my 35 year old economy car from America to ride like a new Maserati...
    Damn. Now I'm heartbroken.

Don't know, wouldn't own a European car but I bet they ride nice considering how much they cost. Probably better than a stock Maverick or Comet ever did.

My experience is that European cars ride stiffer than American cars. The average European driver is more concerned with handling than the average American driver. However, is seems that the American cars are starting to head that direction.

    Indeed.
I like the way older cars drive.
My wifes van drives really nicely. It's comfortable and safe, reliable and smooth but you can barely feel the road when you drive it.

If you want the Jack up look, it your car. Put the leaf spring on top of the rear end.
