lol, stupid him. He left his door unlocked so i turned on his lights and anything else that i could turn on so it would drain the battery. and i painted his windows inside and out.

    verdict

well guys, time for a new motor... i think the cam is shot...
i pulled out all the plugs. they look fine, clean as can be, expecially for all the miles on the engine. checked the firing order, checked the carb, didn't check oil pressure, its almost impossible to get to the pressure switch, (front of the block by oil filter right? ) can't even see it.

got it started, let it run for a few minutes to get up to temp.
started to pull the wires off to see which cylinders are working or not.

pulling the wires off of 2,3,5,7 don't make a lick of difference. 1,4,6,8 engine amost dies. sounds like a tractor right now, sounds like a 4 cylinder, or a 3 cylinder right now.

its going to be awhile before i get the funds to put a new motor in it.

    sucks

If it turns out you really need a whole engine...

Keep an eye on Craigslist, don't forget about U-Pull-It. (Unlike Pull-A-Part, these are mostly insurance wrecks and have good engines. Almost as cheap as PAP too.) If you'll tell me what your budget is and what you are looking for, I'll ask around and see if I can help you find something. I'm at the junkyards a fair amount also, so I will keep my eyes open.

Once you find your engine, hit me with a PM and I'll lend a hand. I have every tool but the hoist. :Handshake

ya, i have pretty much every tool also, and a hoist, its in storage right now.. i have to decide what i want to put in it now. old school beast or fuel injected beast.
my 66 impala i went with a fuel injected 383 500hp. won't do that with this car. i am looking for 350-400 hp. that should be plenty for this.
i could alway just rebuild this block throw some new heads on it..
    or i was thinking of

a nice 347 stroker could get you alot of hp with the right heads and cam and intake and carb.

I once had someone drop a handfull of small nuts down the secondaries of my carb back when I had my 69 dart. was fine till i got on the freeway and sounged down on it then all hell broke loose. Lucky for me it had forged pistons I drove it home 10 miles with this junk bouncing around in the cyl's.guess the joke was on them cause i was back riding that night after putting 2 valves and a set of plugs in the motor.....it later made 360 RWHP lol
I learned to chain the hood down.

After that I no longer keep anything i care about outside or unattended anywere near my house.

I find it hard to believe anyone would take the time to loosen the spark plugs? It's not like it would be an easy thing to do, but I guess you never know...

that doesnt sound right. the cam would not instantly be bad on half the cylinders. were the spark plug obviously loosened or could they have come loose on there own. ive seen that. the oil pressure switch is on the drivers side of the motor near the front of the motor. just behind and above the fuel pump.
