Fair question.....I fully expect to have to go in and do a few touch ups. But that is easier than trying to paint the inside once it's on the car. Also, I plan on bonding it on as well as welding, so less burns to fix.

About time you switched! I now have 40 shops using EHP that I am responsible for. Very little troubles.

    Thanks Dave!

    Thanks!

Thank you, although I wouldn't go that far. I am fortunate to have a very strong collision/restoration background. As a tech rep for an automotive paint company this is the part that comes easy to me. Then add the fact that I have been into the street rod scene since early childhood, it all helps. If you follow the link below in my signature you will see a bunch of my past projects. Both mine and for other people.

Thanks, but I already have two kids. :)

Keep in mind it took years to accumulate all the tools and equipment. The booth is not mine, I have a shop that lets me "borrow" it when I need it. Only 9 miles from my house too. I can use it any night or all weekend long if needed. Nice to have great friends!

I don't have much of an update today. But I do have some news to share. I am going to install power windows in this car. In doing so I want to do it the easiest and reliable way possible without having to go crazy.

I have contacted Nu-Relics http://www.nu-relics.com. They do not make a kit for our cars, but are willing to. So I will be the guinea pig on this one. I am shipping them down my window regulators. From them, they will make reproductions of them only they will have a power motor on them instead of the crank.

The great thing about their products is that they bolt right into the exact factory locations, and the glass will attach exactly as it does on ours now. This is the easiest bolt in upgrade you could do to get power windows. The swap would take a quick afternoon, then just run the wiring and install switches and done.

I installed their kit in my 47 Ford a few years ago and I can not speak highly enough of their products and the quality in which they make them.

I fully expect some of you to reply that there are cheaper ways of doing this with junk yard parts etc... But for someone looking for an easy bolt in power window project with all brand new parts this will be the best way to go.

    Glenn

I'd be interested in one of these. Will they eventually supply the complete regulator or do they modify our old ones?

You get from them a pair of new regulators. Completely new manufacturing with a new power motor mounted. I am sending mine down only because they need something to use as a template for them to be able to reproduce. They tell me once they get mine it should only take around two weeks to be able to have something for us in production. Of course the holidays might effect that timeline, but overall this will be available shortly.

I wonder if there's a difference between the regulators for your car and my '70 since my doors don't have the reinforcement across the middle.
