What are some of the gear ratios you guys are using with the AOD transmission, with 235/60r/15's? Im thinking what will be best for on the highway and just cruising.

I'm running 3.55:1 in mine, 1700 rpm at 65 MPH. I kept the tire size close to the same diameter of the factory tires. But I did learn, that since my AOD came out of a van, which had larger diameter tires, the shifting is screwed up. Something I hope to get corrected over this winter.

I have to replace the governor, which appears to have been missed by the guy that originally built my transmission....

I had a 1960 Falcon with AOD and a Maverick rear with 2.79 gears no good but gas mileage was great.

Unless you have some odd ratio O/D in that AOD, something doesn't sound right... Those are the kind of RPMs my Grand Marquis with 2.73 & 225/60/16(25.75" tall) tires turns at 65 mph...

I'd say this is correct, my 3.73 gear T-Bird with AOD turns similar RPM at 65mph using same size 225/60/16 tires as on the Grand Marquis...

Probably not, but with your stated tires and gear, those RPMs don't correlate to any AOD I've had in the last 20 years... Your 65 MPH RPM would be correct if you were running something like a 31" tall tire as in a truck, not shifting at correct points is also related to RPM...

Is that a observed tach reading or a suggested RPM?

That's why my tach says. I've been quite happy with the whole thing, other than the shifting, it gets great milage on long drives.
