I would help the viper cause, but currently my "spare" funds and change have gone to the cause above.

I'll not be donating anything. It sounds fishy to me.

What a novel approach to completing a car project ! Using funds from someone ELSE .. Have we been doing this wrong all these years ?

Hey there folks .. I'm in a bind .. and running short of cash ..
Send me money right away .. just dig into "your" stash ..
Parts required to finish work ..not here..since funds are lacking ..
But I'll be fine if you send dough . I'll build it with "your" backing...

    DUH !!!

I wonder if this is the first time he has asked to be bailed out of something he has gotten himself in to.

does anyone remember the time the guy on here was in a bind and we supplied parts to get his car back up and it was a scam?...:yup:

Yep that's sort of what I was thinking. Biting off more than you can chew.

My saying it sounds fishy, I'm not implying that he's up to no good. Just that I don't think this plan will pan out. At least not relying on donations from car owners. I could see how (possibly) some automotive vendors might donate in something like this for the advertisment if it was getting more publicity.

Yes, I met him in person too. He did the same thing on a van forum at the same time. :(

as I mentioned in the other thread about this project.. if he's actually willing to sign the required paperwork to designate it as a "full proceeds charity vehicle"?.. including the cash value that he's got tied up into it so far.. there are more than a few builders around the country who'll likely be willing to inspect it and potentially take it to completion.

If he strictly needs have it funded just to do it himself because it was "HIS LABOR OF LOVE"?.. it starts to get kinda smelly to me too. Pride won't finish that car.. only cash and experience will do that.

And IMO.. a good "in-house paint/upholstery" shop should be able to finish that car for under 20K. Although.. I'd easily add another 2k just to see some real snake skin accents included on the seats and door skins. Hell.. if you're going the full show car route.. maybe even add some airbrushed exterior snake skin accents too. lol

I wish I had thought of, or had the balls to ask, all of you guys to donate to my build. Imagine what I could have done with all of your money?

If anyone out there wants to pay the bill for the chrome plating I will give you a ride in the car when it's done! Doesn't that sound like a good deal? Lol........

I'd rather have just seen it restored. It was a Sprint after all.

I suspect the viper crowd will be more obliged to donate money to this guy then the maverick crowd.

You guys are all too funny. I do feel bad about jumping on this guy. But, it is not something I could ever put out there for other people to pay for my project.
