I dunno I'd be half tempted to do mine as an 'art car' and put it on kickstarter or Indie-GOGO for funding. Get it all fixed up, and then put some paint on it. Findal design: replica of an auto-cross racer.
Out of curiousity, do you really put that much value on it because it was a Sprint? I do think they are neat, but would never go out of my way to own one or restore one. No offense to anyone that has, they just don;t really appeal to me. And for what it is worth, I did offer it up for a trade to someone with a body in the same shape as mine. When noone stood up I started building it my way. But, that is just my way of thinking, right or wrong......
We're not talking about your car. And yes I do put that much value on a Sprint. A very rare Maverick in my book. My point being, he probably could've had the car done in budget by now if not taking on such a vast project without the budget to complete it.
I guess I still don't get the Viper Maverick thing. Just doesn't interest me for some reason. Maybe cause every Viper I drove sounds like crap. LOL I know a few Viper owners. He wont get much support from those boys for a Maverick.
This is true. Sort of like how some of the Shelby owners recently had a bashfest on a Shelby De Mexico tribute Maverick spotted at a car show. I lol'd that one of them called Mavericks a chit-box. Now that's my nick name for my car.
he is..." between a rock and a hard place"... I think we're all jealous because we didn't think of it first for our projects...
That's too bad. I was working on my car, had a guy on his harley roll by slam on his brakes push it back and spend an hour chatting with me. Showed me pics of his shelby mustang, and said he really like my comet GT. Said he'd have to think about looking for one himself. Only bit of "arrogance" I got was when I suggested moving all the parts from my 74 to the 71 I used to have to save on body work and he acted like that was the greatest sin ever. But then I don't own one of those ugly snub-nosed mavericks either.
