POWER TOUR Route ?? This years tour kicks off @ Concord , North Carolina ..to Knoxville, Tennessee, then Charleston,West Virginia, then Norwalk, Ohio, then possibly MUSKEGON,MICHIGAN ..(this stop isn't confirmed yet ..) then to Bettendorf,Iowa, then to Wisconsin Dells , Wisconsin .. The Last Stop may be "changed" due to $$ issues .. CAMEO is joining the tour as LongHaulers with a 74' COMET , and a 72'MAVERICK .. Hope to see some of you'se on the tour..Cometized
Finishing COMET Hi Tody: Good to hear from you. Yep ! I'm doing great .. learning to walk again without a limp .. I'm almost ready for my new skateboard..As far as the COMET .. We're getting really close .. we're fitting all the AC and Power Steering Hoses from their NEW locations to UNDER the crossmember, and the passenger side fender through the firewall. We made an Engine Mounting plate from half inch aluminum sheet with our CNC and changed the location of the power steering unit , and the compressor and alternator to a more strategic location .This setup allowed for more "room" ..since we pushed the pulley alignment BACK towards the rear of the car ..We're running an electric pull fan for the radiator , and a evaporator in front of the radiator with another fan for more cooling. We added a belt tensioner on the passenger side and routed a belt normally used on a CAMERO to insure the "load" on each pulley was directed onto the CENTERS of the shaft and not "end-loaded" .. We're going to offer this engine plate for anyone who is considering a 351 transplant with the same set-up The difference will be $$$ since ours will utilize all STOCK pieces such as Alternators , 95 Mustang Waterpump(1-3/4" inch shorter shaft ,SANDON AC compressors , and the like. Most mounting plates available now are expen$ive since THEY sell you THEIR type units. With OUR setup .. you can buy plentiful , available pieces at a $aving and still get a more efficient belt system. I'm going to put this setup on my website when I'm finished if anyone may be interested . By the way I commend you on YOUR build ..The workmanship is First Class .Kudos to you Sir !!! .. Hey chip, it's been a while. I was really upset when I heard about your accidents and am pleased to hear you are mending. I haven't been into the car scene for a while since we moved to Montana but I still check in. I can't wait to see your new creation. Your last was amazing and I'm sure this one will be too.
Its good to hear from you and Chip, Y'all were the first two guys I talked to at my first silver springs show....
