is your steering turned all the way to the left? how much clearance do you have with the pitman arm to the pipe?

OUCH!.. I don't see dead people or anything weird like that.. but I can see about 4 lost horsepower right there. Of course you're already running shorties which is the main problem.. but that just adds insult to injury, right there. :p

Is it possible to cut into/notch that ball flange.. or the donut.. whichever it is that sits out in the flow column without compromising the seal?

Arm is at center and yeah it will probably hit but I can at least steer the car now... There will be a custom pipe bent for it when I have the exhaust system installed...

The exhaust system and a front end alignment will be the only two items I'm gonna farm out...

    LOL...

Today I finished installing the column shift linkage & adjusted, also fixed a small leak at LH caliper banjo bolt(iron bar, smack with hammer and re-tighten bolt), installed belly bar, routed P/S lines, checked everything in the front suspension, motor mounts etc for tightness...

I received the rubber mounts today for the Street Fire ignition box, next work will be swap dist, mount box & coil, then finish wiring the ignition system... Also received the new radiator a few days ago, if I can get a little decent weather maybe it'll be running soon...

This afternoon I checked out the Street Fire system I bought from Marcus last month, makes far more spark then even a Ford TFI system(yeah I lit one of those off just for comparison)... Will install it tomorrow...

Not had a much time as I thought I'd but finally have the ign system laid out, still have to tidy up the wiring mess... Original plan was to install it by battery but with the aux Painless Wiring fuse panel I'm adding, there wasn't going to be enough room...

Yeah I'm gonna scrub the W/S reservoir and detail the horn, hung them in place to determine best fit for ignition...

I have the same ignition system planned for my Comet. I like the placement, nice job!

Thanks, I'd thought of mounting it behind the RH shock tower but decided heat could be a factor... Almost mounted it directly below horn but I figured a sudden blast may scare it(not really, almost blocks the horn opening)... There isn't enough space for mounting between reservoir and horn and I was afraid it may get wet if I mounted it horizontally under under reservoir...

Without the auxiliary fuse panel I could have gotten it in by the battery but still that necessitates some creative mounting, with all the irregularities a custom plate is just about needed... It would be possible to slightly angle it and use two insulators on lower corner to level it out...

Had some time today and it was almost warm..

Painless aux fuse box is mounted and wired to solenoid, still have to make most of the connections to fan, lights, choke etc... Speaking of choke the "loose" grey wire is the supply, thinking it won't be too noticeable routed down the alu intake... Will cover it with loom to where it sneaks from behind alt...

looks good.. I tried to do the same thing but couldn't find any switched power there... I wanted to have a source for my under hood add ons without running a wire through the firewall...

I'm using the red/green wire that is normally connected to solenoid to jump out resistance wire when cranking... Without anything else now connected to this circuit, it can be used to trigger relay for Ign switched circuits... Probably wouldn't be a good idea if still using it to feed ignition but since it's no longer needed, makes a perfect source to power the relay coil...

Well since it was a year ago today that I started this thread, thought it'd be a good time to start updating it again...

Engine compartment with shot of electric fan and a few other items, still need to order plug wires...

BTW, Holley sent me the carb for free. Have exactly $31 for return shipping of defective unit. A buddy gave me the bad one & found it could not be rebuilt, appeared to be full of blisters. Luckily it's code date was in the period of failing carbs. Told friend and he said great, it was going in trash if you had not taken it.

Did you eliminate the hood emblem?
