In December I downsized and moved into a APT. So I crammed everything in a hurry into the garage. As soon as I moved I had a shoulder surgery which has put me out of doing anything for the last 3 1/2 Months. Along with work (I travel roughly 200+ days a year now) I have no time.

I just got back in town last week from a Business trip, I leave again this coming Friday. So I figured I'd put around in the garage and maybe clean it up, and poke around with the Maverick. So that's exactly what I did.

I shoved it up against the wall, and lifted the car up as high as I could that was safe. ( I shook the car as hard as I could to see if it'd fall or if it was sturdy and sure as hell it is :) )

I cleaned out everything and placed it up in the rafters, swept the floor, and now I am going to remove the cowl. I welded the corner of the cowl in, and looks great. Then I tried to weld up the vents in the cowl, and failed miserably. Soooo I need a new one. Give me a good excuse to POR15 the inner side of it, and pay someone to weld up the vents :)

Have the doors, fenders, and trunk at paint. Interior is complete, need carpet, and window seals. Going to black out the windows.

Need to remove the shock towers going to do a coil over setup. Need to finish welding the fire wall up. I want to choose where I want the holes at... Custom make a dash, get a steering wheel, trans, rearend, disc breaks all the way around, and slap some paint on it...

Going to be doing a 2008 Corvette color, however going to tweak the paint a bit and add some nice pearl/flake to it.
    Paint color is Atomic Orange.

Factory color, or something close. Maybe the (2001) bullitt green. I have to take the front end off to paint the jambs and doors. I really like the gt scoop and side stripe. I'm not a fan of clones but there's not much else to do to the comet.

bought 4 shocks and had them installed at the body shop. They also replaced my leaf springs with new ones I dropped off last year.

If you are interested I've got a small Boss 9 style scoop. It's not as wide nor as tall as the original, but is new and does come with the studs already molded in.....I'm going a different route with my hood.

Finished taking off the cowl, and wire brushing. No rust, no pits, no holes. Phew I dodged a nasty bullet...

Started removing the shock towers. If you ever plan on doing this, make sure you have a few beers and some patients. Spot welds EVERYWHEREEEEEEEee haha..

Getting excited, progress is showing. Need to POR15 the bottom of the cowl, and put some paintable seam sealer on.

Going out of town for 15 days, home for 4, and back to northern cali for another 18 days...

Anyone Live in the Bay Area?

Got the shell blocked out with 320.. Found like 3 more tiny dings.. Couldn't block them Out fully so it needed a little glazing putty.. Started blocking out the chevelle as well with 320.. Did like 4 hours and then had to leave, finally fully moved into the new place though! That's 1 more thing off the list.
Now I can focus..... On other stuff.
Got an email today that stock interiors shipped my carpet today as well.

So... Yesterday I took out the remaining shock tower. Today I had a neighbor guy who was bored help me wire wheel the underside of the car. He did that while I did some misc body work, and straightening out some edges with the body hammers...

    Here is some pics :)

\going to wire brush the entire bottom of car, then soap it down, then splash some acetone to dry it up, and put Line x bed liner on the bottom.

This will be the last of what I do until i return in a month. I come home for 4 days, but that wont be enough to do anything. Ton of doc appointments etc for myself and my pregnant other half. Should be back in town for a two week vacation in end of May. (I hope)

Levi, Put the wood blocks back under the front of your frame rails just for support so the front of the rails don't "droop" - still keep the bulk of the weight of the car on your 4 jack stands :)

I should have the front cage down bars information for you before this weekend. :thumbs2:

Took a couple of weeks off to work on the '69 XR7 conv to get it ready for a 400 mile cruise with the Fl. Cougar club. Back to the front suspension disc change on the Comet GT. My friend, Ken, gave me a set of new springs(Damn Dirty Springs)took 5 hours to get them compressed and put in the driver's side-wonder what is in store for the passenger side!!!!!!! Old springs came out with no problems. Now have new Moog lower control arms, new upper control arms and spring seats, new rubber strut rod bushings, new bearings, rotors turned, new Moog tie rods, new calipers, new brake pads, and new hoses. Driver's side down, on to the passenger side.
