Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and maverick builds. I recently bought a 1974 maverick. It's been sitting in the woods in the hills of Arkansas since 1997. It took two hours with a tractor to finally reach freedom. Had no wheels brakes locked up. No drive train. The plus is little to no rust. Floor pans are excellent. Even still has the eight track player. Starting a rebuild. Thinking of using complete drive train out of 1995 crown vic. Have worries about fuel delivery and aod tranny. Can I use my driveshaft and cross member?? Any info helpful or thoughts on what should do instead. Thanks again.

:Welcome:Welcome from northeastern Illinois. To put the Crown Vic drive train in these small engine bays will require eliminating the shock towers. Most who have done this mod have went w/ the Mustang II type suspension. Do a search to see what the change over will require.

It was actually the 1992 model year that got the first modular engines. The "Boxes" (1979-1991) all had push rod engines. When the new "Aero" body-style was introduced, they had the 4.6L, which continued into the last generation of the Panther Platform often referred to as "Whales" (1998-2012). A little bit of useless trivia...

And yes, :Welcome: from Atlantic Canada!

Yep! All I hve seen in sales ads had 4.6 liter engines. They wud be the wide, elephant motors.
