    Quite possible, I will look into the engine ventilation, maybe the vent on that valve cover is needing replaced. :tiphat:

    I painted my headlight bezels a couple of weeks ago, so today I painted the grill and tomorrow maybe I will do the hood lip trim also.

    Rick, I am going to have to use that trick. As you've seen I picked up that grabber hood. Wondering how I want to do it. The nose is rotted out, plan to extend the nose a little bit... but not quite sure how I should go.

    I am thinking of adding a cowl to the hood, but idk. Ideas?

    Hood's nose is rotted out. Has a small dent in the center behind the nose, maybe 6" should be able to massage that out.

    Should I peel the skin off of this gently, and graph it onto one of my good hoods?

    I am no expert by any means but I would skin it and see what you have to work with. I would be worried about how thin the metal might be where it's folded over on the edges.

    Why not? Just curious because most would probably scrap it any way and it would be no worse than Jimmy2gates cutting up a hood that was way nicer than this one.

    Thats why I was kinda thinkin about just graphing it onto a new hood. Cut 1" inwards from the edges and transfer that to the other hood.

    and would only really have to cut the sides at 1" the top of the hood (closes) to the window is perfect (or so I believe -- no peeling of paint, seems solid).

    Also what is werid is how flimsy the hood is as a whole. If It is standing on the end I can twist the entire hood maybe a 1/8" and just feel wobbly.

    idk. Gonna sketch a few things up in a few minutes.

    I installed a new battery in the 1976 4-door. The old one had been on a battery tender all winter and still wouldn't hold a charge. I nursed it along all last summer. It was 8 years old....from Wal-Mart installed by the previous owner. I would say it was about due!!


    Are you kidding me? I have glass shops come to the house and do it in my garage.
