Today I bolted on all my new parts that arrived on friday from Melvins Classic Ford Parts, all parts fitted very well and easily, the interior light work at first but then stopped, the light bulb is still good so must be a fuse or wiring problem, will get that sorted soon.

Yesterday, I prepped the hood scoop an cleaned the inside of all parts. Now to prep the rust an do much needed work. I will use my 1974 Comet as a parts car since it bit the dust. Has great metal parts an pans.

Still working on valve cover leak, doubled cork gaskets not working, vent on that valve cover is new and flows very well, gonna pull the cover again and straight edge it and the top surface of the head and see what might be up with those, thinking maybe a different set of valve covers  just finding some tall enough is a pain, also looked into PCV valve, it seems to be working properly, I know from past experience with sbf engines that if you get quite a bit of blow-by, it generally shows on the dipstick tube as blowing oil out there, I don't have that issue, is there a way to actually check crankcase pressure? engine runs VERY good, just got that dang leak when I get on it a bit, also noticed yesterday on the shakedown run the carb was loading up pretty bad but that's an issue I can take care of, I have another Holley 750 standing by to replace the 650, it is not smoking from the exhaust internally, just from when the oil leaking hits the header.

Removed the kick panels, rear interior panels and the back seat. I then started cleaning the kick panels to get them ready for paint. Hopefully within the next couple of days I will paint the kick panels and a nice pair arm rests that I have. I'm trying to do the small stuff first.:yup:

installed my t5 crossmember, starter, primed the oil, dizzy and plug wires and ended the day installing my rad with the flex-a-lite fan...

While I was under the car I noticed that oil was leaking from front and back of the engine.. There was a light film on my block plate and some on the bottom of the balancer.. this was before I primed the engine,so I'm guessing it's from the oil pan gasket... I'll check the and see if the oil pan is tight enough, I used a one piece pan gasket...

Finished hooking up all vacuum lines under the dash on my factory air conditioner swap. Still need to restore the package tray and get it mounted before moving on to under the hood. I found out that there's more to this little project than I first expected.

Finally starting fixing the softball size rust in the lower left fender. Thought it just surface rust under the paint. Wrong.....the drain tube in the fender was full of dirt, probably was like that when I got it. Went to scrape off some paint and found a good size hole. No time or money to fix it with sheet metal, so I made a nice fiberglass patch to get me through the year. Will post pics later.
