2 Questions... I have found a perfect dash pad. It I brown and faded. I'm going black so 1. How well do they dye? 2. What are they going for before I make an offer?
    Thanks

SEM vinyl dye in 'Laundau Black' works very well.

SEM product #15243 is as close to factory black as I've ever seen. I use it on lots of vinyl and plastic parts.

As long as the vinyl is soft, it would be a good buy in the $300 or less range.

    :)

SEM is it. Clean it and use the SEM vinyl prep before dyeing for long lasting quality.

I just wash them 3 times with a powerful detergent like Jungle Jake or Simple Green and a stiff brush. Right before spraying I wipe them down with a rag soaked in wax and oil remover - the same stuff you wipe auto bodies down with before painting.

With the SEM products, pay close attention to the humidy and never spray if it is over what is recommended on the can (50% I believe). Humidity will effect the color and uniformity of the finish.

Personaly, on kick panels and harder pieces, I use SEM's flexible primer. I tend to go along with manufacturers recommendations. However, that said, if Eric (Acornridgeman) says what he does works, it works. No bad advice from him. :thumbs2:

I do clean the wahooney out of the pieces and use wax and grease remover before using either the vinyl prep spray or the flexible primer. Of course, I use the spray dye after those applications.
