I am removing a 5.0 HO motor from a 1989 Lincoln Mark VII. What is important to keep from the engine if I am planning on running a carburetor instead of fuel injection?

Keep the fuel injection manifold , injectors , fuel rails , and the computer and wiring harness if possible along with the IAC and whatever else is connected the the injection setup . If YOU don't use it .. there is always a market for those
    components .

Depending on what transmission you are going to run you may need a 157 tooth flexplate/flywheel. And you'll also need to make sure your distributor has a steel gear.

Thanks, I will run an AOD transmission from a 92 Grand Marquis. Will the distributor on it now (factory) possibly not have a steel gear?

Regarding my last post on saving the fuel injection parts.. I didn't mention the throttle body , breather , and anything else that connects to the fuel injection setup. Save them.. someone will want them eventually.

The LSC wiring harness is approx 15ft long and has the ABS and and air suspension intertwined into it, useless except for another LSC... It's nothing like the Mustang or Fox T-Birds...

You'll need the front sump oil pan and pickup if you don't already have it, also front cover and fuel pump eccentric if you are planning on using mechanical fuel pump... The front sump also requires a front dipstick and tube...

Is the motor out of an automatic or a manual?

OK wasnt sure. I had an issue with mine cause I didn't know pilot bearings existed. Wanted to make sure no one else went thru that hassle :)
