Car's been at the glass shop for a month now. I told them to take their time and make sure the new windshield wasn't leaking. I guess there's a problem. I'll probably stop by this week. :hmmm:

Time to bring it home. Just call a glass shop and have them come out to YOUR house and install it.

    Got the car home.

Leaking water. They said cowl and body seams are old and leaking. Cowl is solid and I redid all the body seams when I had the fenders off. Plus they dented one of my windshield moldings bad. So disgusted I think the car will sit.

Sorry to hear, In my town there's no glass shop that will touch my windshield.. They don't know how to set one with a gasket, also if they don't do the install they wont sell the glass... I had to find a used windshield and install it myself...

    Sorry to hear that, David.

I went through this over 10 years ago with my 4dr. Three new windshields, and a bunch of welding around the top corners later, it still leaked! I found out they used urethane instead of butyl. They never told me about the rusted corners on the first install, until I showed up a week later with a cracked windshield (water leaked and froze, cracked the glass). I fixed the rust and THEY broke the 2nd windshield putting it in. They ordered a third windshield, threw it in and basically told me to P.F.O... Good glass guys are hard to find IMO.

The guy who is going to do my Grabber glass runs a privately owned glass shop and is a respected friend of my uncles. I basically interviewed him for the job for an hour, talking about what he needed and what I need.

Best of luck with plan 'B'. Please don't let your car sit too long...I enjoy watching the progress on your build! :yup:

Did you end up mounting the Comet scoop on another hood or is it still to be mounted?

    What measurements are you using?

I'm undecided if I'm going to use the scoop on the 2nd hood. The hood is so nice I really don't want to drill it. I found the measurement of the spacing of the rear of the scoop to the rear edge of the hood here on the forum. I can't remember the measurement though. Seems like it was an inch or so.

At least flat hood aren't that hard to come by - I cut a big hole in a nice flat hood for 2 Holleys to stick through but would never do it to my Grabber hood :49:
