While reviewing a thread posted by member 73curtis: http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/looking-or-a-72-grabber-hood.102450/ A reply was posted by member Mel Moeller of a craigslist listing for a Grabber Hood: http://kpr.craigslist.org/cto/4830844348.html Within the photos, was one showing a "service specification decal" which I have never seen. So now I am curious as to what years this decal was present?... poster of hood states this one is a 71.
I didn't read this particular thread yet, but I will go look for it. I have seen that decal on the radiator support, but not on a Maverick hood.
Found it - at Dearborn Classics http://www.dearbornclassics.com/service-specification-decal-1971-torino-1971.html They list it for just about everything EXCEPT a Maverick .............. ................ maybe an over zealous line worker stuck one on there by mistake. The '71 I had didn't have one. Maybe other '71 owners can tell us if they have one on their car. FORD FAIRLANE 1971 FORD FULL SIZE FORD 1971 FORD MUSTANG 1971 FORD THUNDERBIRD 1971 FORD TORINO 1971 FORD TRUCK 1971
That is the correct one for a 71 .. I went with a rectangular one (forget what year) in my car because I thought it looked better.
