is there anyway posible i can convert my front drums on my 72 comet to disks and keep my 4x4.5 bolt pattern? i know it will probly cost a bit and i dont want to have to dish out more money for rims if i can avoid it
I seem to recall a "kit" out there to do just that. It was developed for the Mustang crowd for the same reason. I do not know of a vendor. I hope this helps.
This is the only one I am aware of. https://scarebird.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=65&product_id=94
Thanks for the help. But if I can i'ma try and steer away from milling my spindle down. I have horid luck and would probably mess it up
these say... "This setup alloys 1986-89 Nissan Stanza front rotors with 1983-89 Chevrolet Cavalier calipers, giving you an excellent affordable system that requires a little hub machining and preserves the original factory geometry. t." aren't these for just the...brackets? "our AutoCAD engineered brackets. We make these brackets right here in the USA with state-of-the-art Trumpf CNC laser machinery for excellent fit and finish. https://scarebird.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=65&product_id=94
not sure where they come from but i bought a 72 parts car 4 lug and it came with disk's on the front...stille got em sitting beside my shop.
I Was thinking about it. But planning on a little one in the near future and I want it as safe as possible
I believe the machining is on the hub, not the spindle and most likely it is just on the OD so the rotor will fit over it. You could probably have a brake shop put it on their brake lathe and cut it down for a small fee. This is just a guess, it would be best to confirm with them.
