Any one have any experience with Felpro Performance head gaskets? part#1011-1 there only .041 thick and are suppose to work well with aluminum heads. a little pricey at $42.99 each (I thought it was for a set when I purchased them) LOL

I used them yrs ago & had no problems, but on the mtr I am building now I am going to use some old Detroit gaskets I`ve had for a long time to drop my compression a little bit.

Be sue to read the directions that go to your heads. There are 1011-1 and 1011-2. Some heads do not recommend one or the other due to a difference in sealing ring material.

Actually, Dan, World Products does not recommend the 1011-1 for their heads. Read the tech sheet that comes with the heads and it says the 1011-2 is fine but not to use the 1011-1. They tend to crack the heads. We ran them on our dirt mods and had problems with it.

So,I guess I could get away w/ regular Fel Pro gaskets. To me,a cast iron head is a cast iron head.I`ve used many of the Detroit gaskets on stock rebuilds w/ cast iron heads & never had a problem,& my comp ratio is only going to be 11to 1 which isn`t that high.

I've used both 1011-1 and 1011-2 (depending on head used) and never had a problem up to 14:1. The Fel Pro 9333PT is supposed to be another option but I haven't used any of them.
