Yes, you will have to drill holes in the valance. Just take your time and start from the center working outwards. As you install the screws the valance panel and spoiler should flush up as you go. I remember mine looking like it was going to have 1/2" gap between them but it wound up okay. Here is a good straight ahead shot of my mas spoiler.

It's amazing that you can ask someone for some information on how to get something done and then you end up just putting it off for another day. Well, that day has finally come - rayzorsharp, check it out, I finally installed my MAS front spoiler. I started by removing the lower front valance and going from there. You were right about starting from the center and working outwards. In all, I used 6 screws with metal & rubber washers: two spread 6.5" from center of spoiler, two spread 13" from center, and then the final two 2" from the wheel-well side of the valance.
