I'm getting back into working on the Maverick again and I ran into a huge snag. I've had the Maverick sitting for awhile after the radiator blew and I was checking to see if there were any other problems I'd need to take care of immediately and I ran into a big one. When I went to pop the hood to check the engine the hood just would not open. The release handle does move up towards the hood, but that sucker is jammed. Bad. I really can't think of anything to do other than shoot the mechanism with WD-40 and pray. Any ideas?
I opened one on a '73 just a couple weeks ago that had been setting well over a year, used PB Blaster... Had to work it several times but it finally released...
I prefer to use PB Blaster and I happen to have a can. I've been moving a bunch of furniture lately and didn't have a chance to give it a try, but I definitely will now. Thanks!
I used to be able to push down on the hood and then try to open it again and it would work, but not anymore.
