I installed one of those battery kill gizmos. By unscrewing the green knob there is no power to the car. This is for piece of mind when the car is in the garage and I am not around. image.jpg

20150721_182528.jpg Started tearing down the next one.

Jake had so much fun on PowerTour, he wants to go next year in his own Mav. Optimistic? Yes! Impossible? No.
He's making good progress so far, but when he goes back to college in a few weeks.....

He has plenty of time since the next Power Tour is the first week of JUNE 2016 .. It would be great to have a couple more Mavericks in the Tour . What year Maverick is Jake's car ? We're finishing the '70 soon and we plan on being there also. Hope to see you guys there.

His is a 72 that I literally found on the side of the road dead. The 200 blew a head gasket, and the old boy didn't want to mess with it. Other than typical quarter rust and a few holes in the floor, the body is really solid.
He spotted my Bobcat tail lights, and Grabber spoiler, so that's his birthday present from me this year. I'm pretty much clearing out my spare parts inventory on this car: roller 302 with AOD, spare bumpers, hood, doors, floor shift....

It's nice that you're able to keep it in the family ! My Daughter has a '72 Maverick that we built for her over 15 years ago .. She noticed the fun " I " was having with my cars and asked me if SHE could have one too.. So I found a 72 in Ocala, FL and she's been driving it now for over 14 years. She made the 2007 Power Tour with her Maverick with her husband along with Three Other Mavericks and Comet . Great Trip !!! You guys should have a ball.
See ya' on the road Will..

I finally hooked up the kick down for the C4... Even with the extension kit, rod angle was wrong for correct amount of travel, after a couple bends and choice words it finally works as it should...

I had a front end alignment on my new Borgeson conversion. Before the align, I had lots of bump steer. I also had a lot of steering wander "need constant corrections". The bump steer seems to be eliminated, but still not satisfied w/ need for steering correction, thou it is better than B4 alignment. Going to go back to the align shop soon and see what can be done to get it working properly.

If they used stock specs it will drive like poo... Positive caster is your friend, problem is these vehicles are sorely lacking... No idea how much is in mine as I just kept pulling lower arms forward till it's basically out of adjustment(use caution lowers aren't binding on mount)... It isn't horrible but would like a bit more stability...

Replaced the hydraulic brake line from body to rear end housing, also replaced left side parking brake cable that was badly frayed(down to two good strands)... Over all the rear brakes look good, has fairly new cylinders and hardware but the RR axle seal is weeping slightly, something else added on the to do list...
