I'm looking to upgrade my front brakes to Wilwood disc rotors and four piston calipers for a little better stopping power to Kit #140-11073. So i called Wilwood and the tech said that they only had kits that would fit drum brakes for a 69 to 73 maverick, but they have kits for 71 to 73 comet disc brakes, so my question is, did comets come with disc brakes form 71 to 73 and if so are they the same spindles as the disc for a maverick form 75 to 77????
( My maverick has disc spindles and rotor converted already but i don't know from what. Maverick, Comet or Granada, on 15 inch rims ) Thanks Guy for any insight.

I believe that Comets would have drum brakes all around until 1974.

Their computer/info is wrong. Whether it was a Maverick or Comet has nothing to do with it.

My opinion: Save your money. You already have disc brakes and the stopping power is more than adequate in my opinion.

If yours are already converted then they are probably Granadas which work very well.I have the granadas on my front & Wilwoods on the rear which uses a small rotor, previous owner of the car said they did a good job at 130mph in the qtr.

I love my wilwoods. they are much lighter weight and have endless of aftermarket pads available in different compounds for what ever your intended use is. I would suggest selling your disk brakes complete with spindles to some one who has drum brakes and get their spindles. This should give you a few hundred back that you would not have gotten else wise.
