I was considering this a while back. If memory serves a early 90's audi quattro is dimensionally the same as a Maverick chassis. Of course we would have to take safety into consideration. Im not sure that morphing the two vehicles could be done safely. Ill do some Googling and get back to ya.

I'm thinking it would be a pretty cool car if done right and safely! One could definitely have fun on a nice curvy road.

If you are going to think this far out of the box, maybe look into the Lincoln MKZ as a donor. The size is probably close and AWD is an option. The base motor is a 305 HP V6 or you can get the EcoBoost turbo 4. The motor is a nice small package size too.

I have a MKX and it has the same V6, six speed auto trans. This thing hauls the mail for only being 227 cubic inches, and the MKX isn't small, either. Good exhaust note, too.

Wow I just reard the whole thread on the AWD 68 convertable that is awesome, it was almost done then there have been no updates like 6 months

also there is another thread in this forum about AWD maverick options, seems to be a popular trend, there are some awd muscle cars in the other thread
