    That's the way the St. Thomas built cars were done, at least my 77 was done like that.

    Looks great! I decided to do mine very similar to this; I think it looks better to have the bottom of the tail light panel body color where the bumper mounts.

    Frank,

    Did you weld or fill the 5 holes that were on the lower bottom corners of the tail panel where the larger '73 bumper filler pieces mounted?

    I don't remember there being any extra holes in my 73 tailpanel...it came with the small rear bumper to start with.

    They would have been in the smooth crease area; obviously they are no longer there.

    The final touch is to paint the lock cylinder. Not stock but I think it looks better.

    I primed it with a SEM flat black primer that works with stainless steel and then used Dupli-Color TP-70 Trim Paint for the lock.

    The panel paint is in post #7.
