I finally got my new radio all hooked up for my sons maverick and went to attach it to the dash and discovered there are no clips. I am using the original radio mount that I modified for the new radio. Does anyone know where I can find some clips or have any idea how I can mount it. I tried zip ties for a temporary solution but that did not work.
I would think they should be there from the factory whether it had a radio or not. It is a strip of 3 (or 4) of the clips mounted/attached to a metal strip.
I looked for the clips on my 71 that i was going to rob but it does not have them either. Here is a picture of what i am up against. Does anyone have any ideas on how to mount this or a clip strip they can sell me? I suppose i can drill new holes into the radio bezel and directly into the metal but i prefer not to do that if someone has a better suggestion.
I used "U-clips" from Ace Hardware. Some of the Acs's had a fantastic assortment of hardware. I've seen some at Lowe's, too.
Just like the cad plated body bolts from Ford (original) or the ones you can buy from AMK. These would be the ones along the top of the fender, for example.
