    Hey guys,

Attempting to fire the 77 up for the first time since it was towed in the yard.

Can anyone tell me which wires coming from the ignition switch are for the starter relay and power to the distributor? Also, is there a way to check the ignition module?

Starting at the battery, where should I see 12v power with key in start and on positions?

I can understand the wiring diagram, but get lost at the ignition module.

    Thanks!
    Jim P

No, but thanks for the info.
The car has been stored in my father's driveway for several years, I don't get much time to work on it.
Just about finished the front suspension. I would like to try to get it running and to my house.
There has been some "tampering" with the wiring some time before, just want to get it correct.

Well unless it's a 69½ it'll have a ign switch on column and unless added, none before '75('cept CA) had a ign module...

The red/blue wire sends power to solenoid to crank(this wire also feeds ign module) & white/blue powers the ign module...

There are wiring diagrams on the net...

    Thank you.

This is a 77, with the ignition module.

Is there a diagram for the module and ignition switch?

It basically shows them as a common terminal block. Doesn't show what is n/o or n/c. That is where I am lost.

Looking for function of Purple/light blue, orange/yellow and black/Light green coming from ECU to distributor.

Also, could I bypass the ignition control applying 12v to red/light green and having dark green/yellow direct to ground?

You can always jump from battery terminal to solenoid trigger terminal(red/Lt Blu) to activate starter, any medium size screwdriver works fine... You need power on the White/Lt blue wire into module for ign to operate...

Purple/ Lt Blue and Orange/yellow are from the pickup inside dist, they provide the pulse to trigger ign module... The black/green from dist is ground...

Red/Lt Green is power to coil, need to be fed from vehicle harness as there is a current limiting resistor built in harness... Would be OK to bypass while cranking/first start but continued running will damage coil and/or module...
