Things have changed for me and due to some family concerns, I won't be travelling for this Power Tour. Have a great time everyone!

    Hey Will :
Didn't think to mention it but I just had heart surgery in May and I'm not quite up to par in the physical aspect yet so I'm going to give this years HRPT a pass ( sadly ) .. Both the Comet and the Maverick are ready for the trip and Alex is also but I think it's a little too early for "ME' to plan a long trip involving the driving and walking necessary when doing a HRPT .. so..... I'm going to ' sit this one out ' and in 2017 (GOD willing) I'll make the tour with Alex AND my Daughter Kim's Maverick from start to finish. Her Maverick will be completed in early August . We're changing EVERYTHING on hers from Carb to Fuel Injection and everything from the ground up and it's taking some time. I wish you success in your tour and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again on " tour " .

I think you have made a wise decision. Always more HRPT's, only one Chip. Make some of the local & regional events "plenty of those", shoot for the 17 Tour. Wish you the best on your recovery.

    Thanks Everett:
Appreciate the encouragement. Maybe the NEXT tour will come down Florida way ??
In the meantime, I'm putting together a couple of pages on the Power Steering Conversion which you
and I are completing with plenty of photos on my website . It's probably going to be a month or so later but I've already got lots of photos and plenty of text . Just have to put it in the right order.

Unless they run the tour in May, this may be it for a while. I can't take more than a week off in June. I can't complain though, I'm the only HVAC guy I know with ANY summer vacation.

Just mapped it out and if my car was ready to go it would be a 5,200 mile round trip for me. Something tells me I would have to get my brother to ride along, no way my wife would want to be couped up with me in a car for that long!

My son and I went (as spectators). Driving the wife's '16 CTS VSport was a hoot, 420HP twin-turbo 6 is FUN! You did better than us, we didn't see any Mavs or Comets inside the venue and we were there from noon to 4:30. Saw a really nice red Mav on FM565 heading in as we were heading out...

The red maverick wound up in lake Charles and a buddy of mine met them at dinner. We had taken our time driving to Baytown- we stopped in orange and watched a lot of the cars pass by there. We didn't stay at Baytown long, maybe an hour. It was just too wet! It's gotten me fired up for next year though!

Just spoke to a guy today(June13th,) in Austin , Texas and he said the cars were ' rolling in ' all day . He also said it was DRY there at that time ( about ll:00 a.m. ) Lets hope the weather clears for these guys.. it's miserable running in the rain and then getting to the stop with it raining THERE and the VENDOR areas are soaked. Usually the parking lots are OK and paved , but you have to go to the main stage at the Vendor Area and Punch-In to verify the run and to visit the vendors attending to fill the ' goody-bags' with all the free stuff and purchases and THAT'S where you find the mud and puddles . No Big Deal ... It's much more pleasant when DRY . Looking forward to the 2017 HRPT ..also curious as to WHERE that one will END UP !

The gold one is Ethan and Tony from Hutchinson, the red is Brian Hawk from Arkansas. Come say hi, I may stay at the venue more than 15 minutes today!

I tried to catch you at Bucky's heading in to Austin but that place was a mad house. We wont be making it to the KC stop. Going to go ahead and head home from Wichita this morning. We've been plagued with too many issues this year to carry on. We missed the check-in at Gonzales to begin with so there will be no long haul credentials for us anyway.

Let us know if they announce the end destination for next year at the Long Haul ceremony. I may try again next year. If the final drive home isnt too long.
