I cannot figure out why I'm not getting power to my Reverse switch. I've unplugged the switch and checked power at the connector...NO POWER. Fuse is good.

1970 Maverick converted from column shift to floor shift
All of the other lights work

    Any ideas

    Thank you,

    Mark

broken or bad connection in the wire going to the switch.

Power to the Back-Up Lamp switch is a Pig-Tail to the Radio Power. Perhaps it came off...?
    See attached wiring diagram.

You're correct in the sense it came off. It's not installed yet.
I will temp install it and see what happens.

Thanks for the knowledge, greatly appreciated

OK, so I thought it was going to be easy, got up under the dash and found a group of 3 wires, yellow/black, blue/red and black/red. None have connectors, stripped wires.

Reading on the forum I see the yellow/black and the blue/red wires go to the radio.

Any idea where the black/red wire go to?

    Thank you,

    Mark

See attached PDF. Look at 2nd page, upper left. You'll see a square unmarked box (should say back-up switch), it connects to the Radio wire (very small print). The other side connects to the back-up lights. The schematic details the wire colors.

Yes. I am assuming that whomever cut the wires - only did that (didn't make any other connections to anything else, for some other modification).

Did you measure any power on the wire(s) - when the key was in ON or ACC position?

At the fuse panel the windshield wiper switch and the radio/back up light power are on the same fuse

I'm getting there Bob, I need a new gas sending unit, wheels/tires and a front end alignment.
In the mean time I will double check things.
I appreciate your help too, you learned (taught) me a lot(y)
