TCP Coilover Info

    I was also curious about the shock tower to firewall braces. The TCP site seems to imply that you don't reinstall those. Is that correct?

    You need to reinstall them.

    I did not reinstall mine. No issues here. Currently running 450 lb springs up front. ride is great.

    It's not a good idea. These cars are uni-body and flex a lot. Same with early Mustangs.

    You are soooo right Larry. I just reread what I was responding to... I thought we were talking about the outer shock tower pieces. (The part with the bump stop) Whoops.

    That's what was originally asked about was the plates outside the strut with bump stop on them !!

    I never got the impression that the instructions implied not to install them.

    I have them in and do not see a reason not to install them. I think it may help with some added rigidity to an important area that has known flex and cracking issues. I would not take the risk.

    Larry already answered your question. You need to keep them. Nothing in the instructions says not to.

    Anyone have issues reinstalling front sway bar?? Seems like there isn't enough room and will hit Coil Over Shock
    Any pics of yours installed ?
