there is a yellow 72 maverick on eBay right now , are the door panels and interior from a newer car? Says original but looks newer to me

It does have the inside door handles at the bottom of the doors like the '73 and up cars did.

It is an LDO car and built late in the '72 model year (May '72) so that might be the reason?

    Nice looking car!

It might just be me or the way the light is in some of the pictures but it almost looks like their is rust bubbles under the vinyl top near the windshield and the back glass.

I seem to have read here that Late 72, some cars came with the 73-up handles and inserts. The metal frame on the inner doors were set up for both styles.

It's original. 72 LDO cars were the debut of those style panels and arm rests in the Mavs/Comets.

I like it, looks like a pretty clean car even has the sport lights I am surprised that it does not have the wheel well trim.

Yes.....all 1972 LDO cars had the 1973-1977 arm rest set up.
