hello everyone!! my name is john and i just bought a 72 Grabber with a boss 302 that used to be a drag car in Indiana. this is my first classic car as well as my first restoration project. im also using it to teach myself more about cars. im the kind of guy where books help a bit but hands on and observing what to do is preferred. i also have access to a welder at work. my wife is not a big fan of the maverick a it sits but i like it because i see potential, that and everyone seems to have a classic mustang, impala, charger, etc. when it comes to classics i really dont have a preference of make so im not a ford guy or chevy guy or living the mopar life. at the moment i have my headlights (just for looks they dont work needs new wiring that im doing Thursday) zip tied because i have no idea the size of the screws needed for the bucket/housing because there are none that came with the car. shes pretty mean but has a little rust that needs attention. any help/advice would be greatly welcomed
Welcome to the best site on the web for Maverick/Comets. Congrats on your purchase, Mavericks/Comets are not a main stream car and that is what makes them so special to the people on this forum. Lots of reading to be done on this site but dont be afraid to ask questions. Many people have claimed to have a Boss 302 but in actuality it is only a 302 and if you actually have one in the car it is probably worth more than the car its self. Have fun in your learning process and dont let the problems you run into get the best of you as it is meant to be fun.
Welcome from Portland, OR. That is a fine car to enter the Maverick world with. Nuts, bolts, clips,screws......I still dont think I have the correct bolts for my seat belts.....but that is a zip tie free zone I imagine, heheheh. Welcome!
Welcome to the site from northeast Ohio!!! More pictures please. Don't forget to place your car in the Garage section of this site. Details and plenty of pictures are important.
from Atlantic Canada! Sounds like you have some work ahead of you! Be sure to share the build with us in a Project Thread as you go along.
