Hi all, I just purchased a 1975 Maverick and am wanting to do an oil change. what size wrench do I need to drain the oil. Thanks
The one that fits the drain plug. Just grab a few wrenches and crawl underneath there and see which one fits.
The early plugs were like 3/4'' or maybe 7/8'', no doubt so the grease monkeys at the oil change outlets could tighten them with a 1/2" breaker bar... Most of the replacements will have a smaller head... Your best bet is look and then grab two or three wrenches of approx. size...
Hope you're enjoying the warm welcome! Don't let it scare you away, we really are helpful people here.
Really dough, I like an adjustable wrench for easy access fasteners/plugs. I keep A couple of smaller sizes on the tray and use them often. Very handy.
