I bought a later model PMGR starter that was supposed to fit an early 302 with manual transmission. Well it didn't. The nose on it measures 4.135 and the hole on my plate is 4.090. I called the company and the guy I spoke to was no help, other than return it. So while I get that returned, what have you guys used that's good for not a whole lot of $? i have a 302 with the 3 speed manual

I got the new starter in. In the little pamphlet they give you it shows a fusible link and/or fuse in the curcuit. Is it necessary to put a fusible link in the wire going to the little stud on the solenoid?

Where is the starter ring gear at on your flywheel?
Is it on the block side edge or on the edge closest the trans?

Unless the Ranger starter harness I used in my Comet has a fuse link, I don't have one in mine...
