boss 302 maverick

    I must say...never eally knew any details on the Boss 302, but will admit...always been curious (considering I have always been a "C-word person) :eek: .

    But, after reading closely this thread, and doing a little investigating, I can truly see why the Boss would be a pain to install...as well as an LARGE $$$ investment. Below are some heads and a Stang to restore...with fair pics of the heads & their configuration.

    I'll stick with the 302 block/head config, for now...never know what'll happen in the future.

    But, looks to me like the 4.6/5.4 Mod engines are awfully wide too, IMO.:49:

    My grandpa has a full 71 boss 302 thats blue, a 69 (rare) boss 302 shell that was originally blue, a full boss 351 thats black, and a full boss 429 thats orange.

    The first 3 cars sit in the middle of a field rusting away, the last sits under a tree rusting away. I have BEGGED him to sell these cars to people that will do them right, but they still sit there. I love my grandpa to death, but I still don't understand why he is letting these cars slowly rust to the ground. All of them are still very restoreable at this point, but a few years down the road, who knows. :huh:

    Felt the need to throw this out there for some reason. The 429 is for sale to anyone who has enough dough (way more then its worth IMO).

    Skin, be careful, might wanna get a good grip on your chair or something else to prevent you from falling and rolling in the floor laughing before you read this.

    My grandpa bought the car for a $10,500 back in 1982, it was nearly flawless show quality. It now needs a full restoration and he would probably take anywhere between $55,000-65,000 for it because some guy that owned a Ford dealership offered him $70,000 for it back in the late 80's. He dosen't seem to understand that the car ain't what it was back then and needs a full restoration now.

    All cars are 100% complete except the 69' boss 302, but only the 429 is... "for sale" (yea right)

    YEOZA !!!!! But the old Comet was sweet. Something how you look at pictures from way back and see how we progress huh!(y)

    Man..those headers look like a better fit than the ones I fabbed for my 351w

    '72 2d to hold my trailer down with.
    My anemic little 302 is enough for me for now.
    Maybe one day I'll put a real hotrod motor in it for now, but until I have lots of time and a nice workspace I'll have to settle for my car being a grocery getter. :)
