I have a 73 Comet GT and I am restoring it. I would like to know if you can bolt on some bumpers from an earlier Comet that look a lot better than the ones that stick out a mile that are on the car. Do you have to do any modifications and if you do what are they? Thanks.

I did this swap a couple of weeks ago. For the front you need the bumper and the brackets that attach it to the frame, the filler panel that goes just under the bumper and goes to the grille, and the lower valance from a donor car. You can leave your directionals in the grille if you dont mind that it is not correct, otherwise you would want the directionals that go above the valance the grille off the donor car. Lastly, as i just found out, you will need the springs, or cut your springs, or order new springs for a 70-72 car as the car will sit too high after you remove the bumper. Once done, the change is well worth the effort but finding the parts can be a challenge.
