I think this site is a tough place to sell parts, but I will say this I have heard a few people recommend others on facebook to come to this site and look you up. They all said you have great parts and good prices.

Tim has been a member on this site since November of 2010 he use to go by the name of Confused72, I have been in contact with him every since then via pms he appears to be a very nice person that cares about our breed of cars and sees a future in them, although he has not shared the details of the car he is building there are many others that have not as well. He has purchased speedo clusters and other parts from members here and paid a better than market value for them so you have to look at that side of the equation as well.

As a seller on this site and ebay as well I can say that it is a hard place to sell parts but once I got to be known and made some friends here and joined in the conversations it got easier to sell parts but still not the best place to sell them I always offered them here first then on to ebay, I did not let it bother me that parts were not sold here because that is the buyers option but it is funny that the same parts I offered on this site sold on ebay to members of this forum.

I like many members here like to do my own restoration of parts and feel that most people that have the ability to work on these cars have the ability to restore the parts and appreciate the articles members post about the process

Here is Tims first post on this site so you can get were he is coming from.

hello my name is tim i am member confused72. i have been restoring the 1968-72 chevelles for 20 years. i have built very high end cars for years. i recently started restoring the ford mavericks. my father had 2 of these great little cars when i was a child. he had a 1970 maverick and a 1977 maverick stallion that was silver and black. i have noticed since i started building these cars that parts are very hard to get for these cars. what i am offering to members is my restoration services for small parts. dash clusters and bezels, park lights, grill lights, hood hinges, braces, just about anything that is reasonable to ship. what i offer for dash clusters is cleaning stripping then repainting of dash clusters with new lenses and higher watt bulbs, painting the insides white, repainting cluster housing and repainting the silver edge. i offer bead blasting of all metal parts with epoxy primer then repainting. i offer restoring old lenses if possible, if not i can replace lenses, new gaskets, new screws, or restoring old screws. this is something new that i am willing to try, due to alot of people asking me about restoring thier parts. the way it will work is i can only restore parts that are worth restoring. heavily pitted items cant be saved they just dont turn out that nice. you simply send me the part i will inspect and let you know what can be done and how much. you pay for shipping to and from me and you pay for parts and labor. in alot of cases i can re use all of the original parts except for gaskets. you can email me at stpete6910@yahoo.com i can email you pictures of before and after parts so you can get an idea of what i can do. i have a high end 70 maverick that i am currently building that show cases alot of my work you can email me for pictures. i have several adds on ebay with pictures that show cases the work that i do. thanks tim

Purchased a 72 Maverick Valance and Splash Guard for $250.00 about five years ago .. The seller assured me it was in great shape ( I specified I didn't want junk ) so I did a paypal deal and they shipped to me .. I opened the carton and the valance had been ' bent ' in the center and the splash guard was just as shoddy .. I called the person back and wanted my $$ back .. We went thru paypal and a refund was received .. Now I STILL have the parts that this person
sent me and they don't want to pay for the shipping to return it to them ! .. I've since contacted them and they won't send me another UPS label to ship it to them .. or to any OTHER person that may be interested in these parts. So ...I have them out in my plant in the same box they were received in and I feel awkward tossing them out .. SOMEONE out there may want these .. I located some pristine parts after the original deal and they're on the car NOW ..
I should have asked for photos .. but didn't . Buyer beware !

When I was younger I had put a set of centerline (well used) wheels and tires at the curb labeled free. a Week and no takers. My dad said throw a $50 sign on them, they were gone overnight. Just can't give stuff away I guess.

Since Mavericks are still in the local junkyards sometimes I find a very nice part that I wouldn't think twice to have on my car that is in demand on this forum for a cheap price. I will buy it and try to pass on the savings with no luck. A month or two later someone will post the same part that is cracked, broken or needs rust, dent repair for 4 or 5 times the price that I was asking for mine and it sells the next day. A few years ago the junkyard gave me and Frank a Grabber hood because the nose had a rusted out hole or two. I ended up giving to someone local who just got a Maverick. The guy was so happy he bought me a $6.95 lunch the next day.
